A couple of items from LCC's Friday Post

Support the Black Unity Bike Ride

LCC are supporting the Black Unity bike Ride on Saturday 7 August. The organisers are looking for volunteer ride marshals and ground support – you can volunteer here. The ride is a ride not a protest  – it's about promoting wellness in the Black community and getting across the simple message that Black people cycle too.

It would be great to see LCC volunteers involved and we have a lot of ride experience between us. So please consider volunteering and also call out for volunteers through your network.

If anyone is planning some feeder and return rides (which would be great!) or to attend, please let Calum or Stewart at LCC know. They can also answer any questions that you might have.

Please note the end point is different from originally planned (ends at Shoreditch Park), as the route had to be changed to make it more safe. The ride starts in Walthamstow. All details here

Keep an eye on our Instagram page - there will be a Black Unity Bike Ride takeover on Sunday!

Vacancies in the campaigns team

There are vacancies for a Campaigns Assistant and a Campaigns Officer - see here if you are interested or known someone who might be.

If you, or one of your contacts, is interested in the voluntary role of Climate Safe Streets Champion, then please get in touch with Suami (suami.rocha@...).  Estimated at three evenings a month, expenses and free LCC membership on offer. Details here.
