Consultation on proposed Pop-Up cycle lanes on Haverstock Hill

John Chamberlain

The deadline for responses to Camden's consultation on the proposed trial of cycle lanes and new Zebra crossings on Haverstock Hill is approaching (14th March). The proposal would extend the existing lanes on Prince of Wales Road and the southern part of Haverstock Hill up to Belsize Lane and the Royal Free Hospital. This route is a key element in Camden's expanding cycle network and is going to be critical in helping people travel to shops, schools and work while staying out of their cars.

If you haven't already replied in favour we would urge you to do so. There is a lot of opposition mainly because of the loss of car parking.

The consultation is on Camden’s website at

The Online Survey is at the bottom of that page and is straightforward to fill in. Please answer Q7 and Q8 with “Strongly Agree”. And in Q10 tick off positive reasons for supporting the scheme. You need to provide a postcode - you don’t have to live in the area but if you don't it would be a good idea to explain why Haverstock Hill is a route you use.

Thanks! And please encourage your friends, neighbours and children to respond.
